Smallest Gopro stereoscopic camera mounts developed for our television production
The worlds most rugged and one of the smallest HD camera’s in the world is being modified by our video production team to enable us to film in 3D stereoscopic so it can be used as an inexpensive alternative and in hard to reach places.

The camera’s of our choice are the GoPRO hero cameras and they’ll be mounted side by side (parralell). Th idea is to make something that can be placed on a remote control vehicle and still have a 3D stereoscopic image. Wildlife Man David Ireland has agreed to design the rig so one of the gopro cameras is mounted upside down but perfectly parrallel. For those of you who don't know the camera, its waterproof, shockproof and cost efficient.

Above is the Underwater filming case used to take footage underwater at depth of 60 meters. Our video production team has tried and tested this. Not the best in low light.
Wildlife Man 3D series Co-producer Fred El-Harris, said that “This method is extremely useful especially if we intend to film lions up close without risking the lives of our cinematographers. Preliminary tests of the cameras proved positive”, although he is not entirely convinced of the final quality of the product. Adding, “It would certainly be considered in places where people wouldn’t be able to normally film, for example, stereo mounted on a car, underwater (up to 60 meter depth) and dangerous environments. We could mount these cameras on a remote controlled car and send them to film alternative perspectives”.

Tests are set to continue right up until feburary 2011. The results and pictures of our test will be published soon.
